It is a powerful highly focused bespoke form of individual therapy that condenses weeks or months of traditional sessions into a shorter timeframe. These sessions are individual bespoke sessions tailored around your needs, incorporating psychology, psychotherapy and wellbeing. It aims to accelerate your recovery and provide rapid symptom relief for conditions like trauma, anxiety and relationship difficulties.
The initial assessment is with a Consultant Psychiatrist who oversees the treatment plan with a weekly multi disciplinary team meeting (MDT). This ensures that throughout the week all the therapists and wellbeing assigned to your team can monitor progress.
Esketamine is a ground breaking new drug, that was approved by the Medical and Healthcare Products Regulatory (MHRA) in 2020.
Since then, it has been making waves in the mental health field with huge success particularly in treating major depressive disorder where other medications have failed.Â
We are proud to offer an exclusive esketamine treatment programme as part of our mission to help you reach mental and emotional wellness.
Our team consists of highly qualified Psychiatrists, Therapists and wellbeing practitioners all with a wealth of experience in the esketamine treatment. They will be on hand to guide you through this potentially life changing programme.
Unlike other antidepressants that work by increasing neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine .Esketamine stimulates glutamate – the most abundant excitatory messenger in the brain. As the levels of glutamate increase, communication between brain cells is invigorated and the prefrontal cortex becomes more active. These new connections in the brain work to reverse the damage caused by chronic stress which gives you much needed relief from your depression.
The results of esketamine are almost instant, with our Patients reporting a significant decrease in depressive symptoms within hours of taking it. This is a marked difference when compared with other antidepressants which often takes several weeks for users to notice a difference.
Studies have even shown that individuals who suffered from suicidal ideations experienced a decline in these tendencies from 64% to 20% after only three months of esketamine treatment.
The esketamine is a self administered nasal spray device which you self administer yourself in the clinic under the care of our highly qualified nurse.
Throughout this time, our highly qualified nurse will closely monitor your heart rate and blood pressure to ensure you are comfortable throughout the treatment. It is possible that you will experience some minor side effects for about two hours after taking esketamine, so you will be monitored for up to two hours in the clinic before going home.
The side effects sometimes reported are the following:
There is a positive mental health and well-being programme that runs alongside the treatment which can include psychotherapy and wellness sessions that can be either in the clinic or online and we recommend doing this as part of a package. Esketamine treatment alone will not confront any underlying causes of the depression. By addressing both the mind and body, it becomes the most effective way to support the treatment for optimising long term health.Generally, first time esketamine users will likely have some minor side effects, but these tend to subside as you continue with your esketamine treatment course.
These are some of the most common reported side effects, however, you may only experience one or two, or nothing at all.
Generally, first time esketamine users will likely have some minor side effects, but these tend to subside as you continue with your esketamine treatment course.
After being monitored for up to two hours at our clinic, you will then be free to leave to go about your usual business. We do, however advise our patients not to drive or use heavy machinery until the day after treatment. After the esketamine treatment you can expect to leave feeling fully revitalised and refreshed.
